QA-Test Engineer

Job Summary:

The QA Test team is part of the Product Management department and responsible for ensuring and improving the quality of the Asset Control products. The QA Test Engineer is responsible for the overall quality of a number of these products. Activities range from building, testing and releasing product builds. As a test engineer you are able to set up test specifications, develop manual and automated tests and execute tests. You are also required to maintain test environments and test data sets and review documentation.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the quality of a number of products;
  • Set up test specifications;
  • Execute tests (functional tests, performance tests, GUI tests etc.);
  • Develop and maintain automatic regression tests;
  • Review documentation.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with test methods and techniques;
  • Experience in writing test documentation i.e. test plans, reports;
  • Knowledge of and experience with Shell scripting, UNIX, SQL, and databases (Sybase and Oracle);
  • Degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline;
  • Knowledge of Java, Perl and AWK; 
  • Understanding of Data modelling;
  • Understanding of the processes (relevant to Asset Control) taking place in financial institutions is a plus: QA/Testing experience with mathematical libraries (FinCad, MatLab), Ticker Plant technology, in memory databases, and so on.

  • Analytical thinking competency;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Persistent, and driven to complete tasks.

Seniority Level (years of relevant experience):

Has been active in a comparable function in a software development environment for at least 3 years.
