Job Summary:

Asset Control provides strategic data management solutions to (the major) companies in the financial industry. A Technical Presales Consultant provides expert-level technical support to the sales staff in their commercial efforts. This includes engaging clients in technical sessions and Proof of Concepts together with the presales team. Besides these ‘second level’ presales sessions, the prospective candidate will have a great deal of responsibility in deploying the demonstration environment/ solution, will act as technical knowledgebase inside the organization as well as being instrumental in taking feedback from clients back to the development organization as part of the Product Management process. The role offers a great deal of client involvement and involves travel. The position is in the Amsterdam Office of Asset Control.

Main tasks & Responsibilities:

• Serve as an expert technical point of contact for clients and prospects of Asset Control;
• Act as the technical consultant in the deployment of the demonstration environment/ solutions;
• Deliver technical presentations and demos to prospects of Asset Control;
• Create and maintain technical architecture overviews of existing clients;
• Liaise with Product Management in delivering input with respect to potential areas of product enhancements.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

• Degree in computer sciences;
• Knowledge of Windows (2000/ XP) and UNIX (Solaris 9/10, Linux) operating systems;
• Knowledge of Unix-shell scripting (including operations such as file manipulation, program execution), C-shell, Korn-shell, etc;
• Knowledge of Relation Database Management Systems such as Sybase (ASE 12) and/or Oracle (9i/10g);
• Excellent English communications skills (both oral and written);
• Proficiency in general office software tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
  
  Preferred:
• Knowledge and/or interest in the financial industry;
• Knowledge on data modeling.
