Technical Trainee
The traineeship will be kicked off by 6 month training by our solution centre team in which you will learn all ins and outs of our asset control products. In the second half year you will be based in our Beetsterzwaag office where we will involve you in solution centre programs in order to become more familiar with Asset Control technologies and practices. When your trainings year is rounded off successfully you will be able to take one of the following two roles based on your interest and the requirements at that time.
- Solution Center Consultant
- IT consultant
Solution Center Consultant’s principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Understanding functional specifications for projects/use case scenarios that need to be added to presales environment that are relevant to various AC products and implementing them. Liaising with product management and presales for these scenarios.
- Liaising with business consultants to understand the functional specifications, translate them into technical specifications and implement them.
- Understanding new AC products and releases from a technical perspective, testing them for usability and providing feedback to product management.
- Proposing new product ideas, enhancement for existing products and finding and reporting bugs to product management by working extensively with AC products
- Providing input to requirement gathering process carried out by product management and to training material development carried out by training department from a technical perspective
- Preparing test plans and test cases together with beta customers and assisting customers during the beta period from a technical perspective
- Understanding data vendor feeds and the AC interfaces that are developed to support these feeds. Analyzing the data from these data vendors and making data specifications
- Creating interfaces according to the data models created by business consultants for new feeds and customizing existing feeds (Programming in Java).
- Prototyping exercises together with product management
- Providing training/internship to new AC employees.
- Acting as second line support for customers when required
- Continuous learning of AC products and the functionality • Up to 30% travel required (may include international)
IT Consultant’s principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Install, configure and deliver the AC products according to acceptance criteria
- Customize product configurations to meet customer requirements and maintain AC products at customer site
- Advise customers regarding the uses of the AC products, answer customer questions and address concerns
- Establish and maintain strong customer relations throughout projects
- Detail activities in written reports for management
- Complete work in a timely, project-based manner in accordance with project plans, deadlines, etc.
- Continuous learning of AC products and the functionality
- Extensive travel required (may include international)
Are you what we are looking for?
We are looking for qualified consultants and university graduates with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Inherent to our products and environment we will screen all candidates on the following skills:
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Knowledge of Shell scripting
- Knowledge of Java/”Java Script” programming
- Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle/Sybase/MS SQL server)
- Financial services industry knowledge (instruments, processes, regulations, etc.)
- Knowledge of data vendor data (Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, etc.) is a plus
Proven communication skills are very important as in both positions you must be able to ‘translate’ our complex products into understandable and workable language. We ask for a flexible attitude as extensive travel, sometimes ad hoc and/or international, comes with both jobs.
