Business Analyst

Job Summary:
Leverages his/her financial and/or data vendor experience to develop new data vendor interfaces in close cooperation with Software Engineers. Maps data feeds to Asset Control’s financial data model and drives further innovation of Asset Control’s (interface) product offerings.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Cooperates with Software Engineers to develop data feed interfaces, which involves the structuring of data from these feeds in Asset Control’s database. This includes analysis of vendor data and documentation and the translation thereof in basic data models;
- Responsible for those Asset Control software components that are highly business data driven;
- Researches and maps relevant financial instrument and corporate action fields from the various data feeds to Asset Control’s proprietary financial normalized data model;
- Ensures that the Asset Control’s proprietary financial consolidated data model and tooling reflects changes from the normalized data model;
- Drives the further innovation of these interfaces and data models, including maintenance due to data vendor changes
- Actively maintains data-vendor contacts and supports the Solutions Management department.
Special Circumstances
At times is actively engaged in client contacts and supports the Services and (Pre-)Sales departments.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
Education
- Bachelor's/University degree in related discipline.
Experience
- Has an in-depth knowledge of financial instruments and/or corporate actions, gained from several years of working experience in financial institutions as a trader, investment analyst or in the back-office;
- Has worked with data vendor feeds such as Bloomberg and Reuters and, preferably, has an affinity with IT and financial technology;
- Has an in-depth knowledge of financial instruments, such as equities, bonds, derivatives and/or corporate actions;
- Is able to gain an understanding of new financial instruments and/or corporate actions from a data management perspective;
- Has an affinity with data modeling;
- Has a good understanding of MS Excel;
- Basic UNIX, Eclipse and AC tooling knowledge preferred;
- Is analytical and has a creative mind;
- Is able to work independently and in a team, accurately and on detail level.
Seniority Level:
- Has a minimum of 3 years of related experience within the business;
- Works on products.
