AC Data Suite

Investment data is the lifeblood of any capital markets operation. It runs through virtually every operation, every application, and every analytic decision-support function – current and future. Asset Control’s AC Data Suite, has been designed to support the data quality process from acquiring raw data - through normalization, consolidation and data enrichment, down to publishing - in a fully auditable, robust and scaleable fashion. The AC Data Suite consists of the following product sets:

• The AC Server which contains the core functionality to process and store time series and reference data. The AC Server can run on a single box or on clustered hardware.
• The AC Data Vendor Interfaces that process and represent data from data vendors. Asset Control has the largest set of standard interfaces of all data management providers. It interfaces to all the major data vendors and the set of supported feeds is continually enhanced. This contains both interfaces with off-the-shelf data models and connectors to source real-time data. The interfaces are all constructed on a common platform – the interface engine – which can process vendor data in parallel.
• The AC Data Logic comprises the business logic related to the further processing and storage of data. This contains a comprehensive common securities, issuer and corporate actions data model to which vendor data is mapped. This entails the use of libraries containing thousands of mapping rules to standardize content. This normalization of data in turn allows comparison between different data sources and consolidation of data. Using the consolidated data product, clients can set different matching rules to combine information from suppliers and configure a library of standard rules to populate and check golden copy data with a user-friendly GUI. Combined with Asset Control’s rich data model, comprehensive library of interfaces and workflow capabilities, this ensures data control for processes such as valuation, risk management, settlement and custody is easier than ever.
• The AC Link modules are used for data consumption and distribution through APIs, notification, and replication. This also includes an integration framework to provide integration with messaging and EJB applications. Via asynchronous XML-based messaging, Asset Control can be integrated with JMS-compliant products such as MQSeries. The AC Technology Integration Framework is hosted in a J2EE .14 compatible application server, such as Jboss, Websphere or Weblogic.
• The AC Data Analyzer scripting language offers standard functions for data manipulation as well as standard business rules for, as an example, suspect detection.
• The AC Desktop contains a host of modules for data administration functions, data viewing and for data manipulation functions. The AC Desktop also provides workflow functionality associated with data cleansing and data enrichment.
