Data Model
TAPMaster provides full and open access to a fully populated relational data model - the Global Capital Markets © data model (GCM). The key characteristics of the GCM are:
- Multi data source - the GCM is designed to host multiple data sources (such as data vendors) within a single database. This allows for both the storage of data sources with common content as well as hosting sources with different content sets.
- Cross asset - the GCM is a representation of the international financial markets independent of any particular data source. It supports all asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Options, Futures, Indices, Currencies and Money Markets.
- Cross data type - all data types relevant to the asset classes are supported within the same framework. The logic of the GCM allows for easy navigation between very different data types for the same security.
- Automatically populated - the TAPMaster feed processing infrastructure automatically populates the GCM implemented in TAPMaster. TAPMaster is fully functional and ready to support business applications out of the box.
Both reference data and business data content are contained within the same database and accessible via industry standard connectivity tools such as ODBC and JDBC, and standard SQL. Data Model Overview The GCM is a modular representation of capital markets instruments independent of any data vendor. It is designed to provide a single, coherent representation of market data content so as to minimize the time and effort required in developing and managing business applications.
